Topographic World
In this series, I've aimed to capture the beauty and visual richness of topography in both natural and human-made landscapes. Using the sgraffito technique, I've created voluminous forms with intricate surface designs depicting patterns and details of topographical features like stone walls, farms, city maps, subway maps, as well as natural elements such as plant communication systems and water/river networks. My artwork invite viewers to explore and appreciate the fascinating designs that these landscapes communicate.

I chose the name Atoll because the ceramic form echoes the shape and feeling of atolls—ring-like islands that rise from the ocean and surround a quiet inner lagoon. From above, atolls appear as delicate outlines in the sea, almost like drawn or carved contours.
